‘Frame of Mind: Mental health and the arts’ is a public arts program delivered between The National Arts School in NSW and Edith Cowan University in WA. The program is generously supported by the Minderoo Foundation and explores the mental health challenges faced by artists and the ways that themes of mental health are explored in their artistic practice.

The program features a broad array of content – including a symposium, an exhibition, a publication, artist talks, panel discussions, student collaborations and vlogcasts – livestreamed and posted to the ‘Frame of Mind’ website.

Participating artists work across a number of mediums, including performance, installation, photography, video, sculpture and intermedia. By encouraging the play of ideas across artforms and between NSW and WA, ‘Frame of Mind’ highlights the ability of art to promote mental wellbeing and foster dialogue around mental health in the arts sector.
