PACT CURRENT POSITIONS AVAILABLE: COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT PRODUCER

The Community Development Producer position is a new, fixed-term role in the PACT team focussed on producing public program initiatives, building local community relationships and scoping future community and education projects.

Reporting to the Executive Director/CEO and working as part of our small producing team, the Community Development Producer will have responsibility for curating and delivering innovative, socially engaged events that build engagement in PACT’s program and develop relationships with local community; including, for example, inner-city communities and community groups in nearby Erskineville, Newtown, Redfern, Alexandria; local schools and educational programs; and local business partners. Funded through a grant from the City of Sydney, the position is aimed at renewing and enriching PACT’s relationship to our neighbourhood as we emerge from COVID lockdown.

During the position’s 6-month fixed-term, the Community Development Producer will work to design and deliver a series of events to run in the first half of 2022 aligned to the PACT’s NEIGHBOURHOOD project, and also research/seed possible future projects.

See the Position Descriptions below for details on how to apply.

Applications close 11.59pm, Monday 8 November 2021.

About PACT

Australia’s original centre for emerging and experimental art.

PACT transforms the Arts by championing contemporary performance, artistic rigour and the freedom to explore the unknown. We achieve this by:

Placing artists in their first five years of professional practice at the centre of everything we do;

Prioritising diversity, inclusion and an open door approach to programming;

Facilitating an artist-led program for the next generation of cultural leaders; and

Operating a unique Sydney venue dedicated to low cost presentation opportunities for independent artists.

Since 1964 PACT has supported Australia’s most compelling emerging artists to create daring new contemporary performance. Our artists are thinkers, makers and provocateurs. They create Australia’s cultural identity by testing new ideas, pushing their practice and engaging with unique methods of audience engagement.

PACT is built on the land of the Gadigal People of the Eora Nation. We are privileged to gather and create art on their land.  We pay our respect to Australia’s First People and Elders past, present and Future.
