Across arts and health, artistic research plays a vital role in exploring embodied knowledge, care practices, lived experience, and the social dimensions of wellbeing. For artists, researchers, and practitioners working at this intersection, international forums offer important spaces to share methodologies, test ideas, and build cross-disciplinary dialogue. The 2026 International Forum on Artistic Research presents a valuable opportunity to do exactly this.
The call for contributions is now open, and artists, researchers, and practitioner-scholars from across disciplines are warmly invited to take part.
Hosted in the Republic of Ireland, the Forum offers a vibrant international platform for sharing, testing, and expanding artistic research practices. A wide range of presentation formats is welcomed, including project presentations, poster sessions, performances, workshops, roundtable discussions, and experimental formats.
Full details and submission guidelines are available on the official Forum website:
https://sar2026.ie/call-contributions
How to Submit
Proposals must be submitted by 1 March 2026 via the online submission form:
https://sar2026.ie/form/submit-contribution
Applicants can save submissions as drafts and continue to revise or update proposals right up until the deadline.
The Forum programme will include a dedicated stream of artistic research project presentations responding to the central theme of the event. These project presentations will be peer-reviewed and must be accompanied by an unpublished exposition in the Research Catalogue.
Registration and Practical Information
Registration for the Forum will open soon and will include an early bird rate at a reduced fee. Participants will also have the option to book affordable on-campus accommodation.
Please note that the Republic of Ireland is not part of the Schengen zone. If you require a visa to enter Ireland and need support from the host institution, you are encouraged to get in touch with the organisers as early as possible.
